Furthermore, prostitution should be made totally legal for that same twenty-four hour period (hey, that's probably the closest we'll get in this puritanical nation of ours!)
yeah jas, puritanical. Porn is juggernaut in amerika yet somehow "family values" trumps all when it is election time. I think it's safe to say we've got something of an identity crisis going on.
we want all of the warm & fuzzies associated with being (nuclear) family-centric, have our (porn) cake and eat it too, AND if all else fails, feel good about ourselves while thumbing our noses at those who got caught with their proverbial fingers in the proverbial porn cake.
not quite a David Sedaris line... but as good a mixed bag of metaphors as i could find.

Great line. Sedaris came for a reading in Richmond earlier this month and I missed it. I'm still kicking myself for that.
