"The Chronic- What?! -cles of Narnia"

I think everyone with a pulse can agree that "Saturday Night Live" is merely a shell of its former self. It used to be Must See TV (or Must Tape And Watch After Church TV when I was a wee lad), but now it's just plain bad. Occasionally it will produce a chuckle or two, but mostly it's just painful to watch. I'm at the point now where I will only tune in if I like the host or musical guest. I like Jack Black, so I watched last night's episode.

Bah! Another stinker except for one piece: "Lazy Sunday," where Chris Parnell and Andy Samberg do some white boy rappin' about Narnia, Mapquest, and cupcakes. Crazy delicious!

Peep a stream of the video here. (If anyone can direct me to where I can download it, I'd greatly appreciate it.)

It's for this reason that I usually TiVo SNL. I end up fast-forwarding through most skits, but occasionally one or two look worth watching.

I'll have to check out the rapping tonight. Andy Samberg and a couple other guys made a pilot for a hilarious show, Awesometown, which Fox rejected. Surprise, surprise.

THSE - Word.

law fairy - I do the same thing, too. It's too much of a waste of time to watch live. In addition to skipping skits, I also jet through the musical guests I don't like.

I'll check that out. Speaking of pilots not picked up, you've got to find "Heat Vision and Jack": Ben Stiller directs Jack Black as someone who becomes a super genius when the sun goes down. Oh, and his partner is a motorcycle voiced by Owen Wilson.

I got it off of Kazaa a long time ago, but I'm sure it's floating around everyone (it's become rather popular, for what it is). Google it and you'll likely find a link to a bit torrent or something.

That should read "everywhere" not "everyone."

Knowledge is power...for real.

i lucked into that bit. it was funny, and about the only part of snl i watched (also caught the 'jewish christmas,' political sarcasm using a ronnetttes type christmas song, but not really funny). and it was funny as all get out.

but, if you miss all the bad acts, you miss legendary live moments like ashlee simpson storming off the stage after failing to properly lip-sync, only to come back and blame her band.

awww, simpsons, what are we gonna do w/ you?

jasdye - I forgot the Jewish Christmas animation. It wasn't bad.

And "7 more shopping days until Holiday" gave me a chuckle.

I did catch the Ashlee Fiasco, but I think it was after the fact. That was monumental, but most of the musical guests aren't worth sitting through. Maybe I'm just getting old.

You can have Ashlee; I'll take Jessica.

CB - Brotha needs to put out a CD. Oh, yeah: I got a lovely card from your moms today. I miss the baked goods.

D-Money and I went back to her place to watch SNL after a night out. Obviously it was a wild night out (we didn't get crazy with the cheese whiz. It was the Nutcracker and then dinner at Morton's) since we made it home at 11:30. I fell asleep, but I was awake for the White Boy Rap. Funny stuff.

KtG - You know, as much as I love the season, I've never actually seen a production of "The Nutcracker." One day, I guess.

Mehrdad1 - Thank you so much! Merry Christmas to you, too.
