When my TV alarm came on this morning, Bill Clinton was being interviewed on the "Today Show." I thought, "oh great, it's going to be one of those days." But it wasn't.
I received a notification that I won a copy of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy DVD (courtesy of Columbus Alive).
I realized that I could afford to take next week off, head South, and visit my family. And go to a career fair.
I made some great whole wheat linguini for dinner.
P.J. O'Rourke will be on tonight's "Real Time with Bill Maher."
And Tony Blair announced at Clinton's international event that the Kyoto Treaty is a bad thing.
Not a bad day, really.

Waking up to Billy C. would indeed seem like a bad thing...
spydrz - At first I thought it was all a bad dream...
CB - I know it's sacrilege to a Dago like yourself, but I do my best to cut white flour and sugar out of my diet. Whole wheat pasta isn't bad at all.
Today was a good day, too. Barely.
Michigan State 44, Notre Dame 41 (OT).
Yes, I saw that game (during commercial breaks and after OSU's victory). Quite exciting. And Richmond is poised to have their first win (possibly).
And CB, if you read this, take comfort in the fact that Georgetown at least scored a field goal.
I see Richmond was able to put down the Maine juggernaut, which, because of the state's small population, actually has three black bears on its roster. Unfortunately for the team, they spent the entire game in the stands scavenging for food.
Hey Micah, it could have been worse. You could have woken up and actually found Billy C. in your bed. I swear, that man ALWAYS has a boner! He doesn't care who he buggers!
UPDATE: It turns out MSU actually won on a touchdown. They won the OT toss and elected to defend first, so the Fighting Dirty Micks actually went up 41-38 on the first possession, and then State, which had pretty much rolled over and died in the 4th quarter, scored a sudden death touchdown to end the ordeal. I was in the shower and I missed it.
Wow, I'm like John Madden...only less brain-dead.
Always watch till the bitter end. Please just say it once: "Ace is the place for me."
Did you see Richmond's appearance on all of the national football telecasts? Right there on the Vanderbilt graphic it said "Next: Richmond." We made it! Next week will not be a pretty game.
Well, there's the potential that each team will be scoring in the low triple figures or it will be a scoreless game and the teams are too tired to go into overtime. Seems like the kind of game where you spend most of the time checking out the cheerleaders (which is "every game" for a lonely, frustrated guy like me).
Why, oh why, does UR have to schedule Vanderbilt during the season when they finally emerge from being the SEC's perennial doormat? Why not just hire Jim Marshall back and run it up the middle, and when that fails, run it up the middle again?
Even being the SEC's perennial doormat is more than a match for UR. I still think the 'dores should be an ACC team.
o snap. i should come here for my college football updates.
