Got the DVR on Thursday. Stopped working today (along with the cable itself). Nice. There goes my nearly complete archive of "That's So Raven" episodes.
Thanks, babe. I'm hoping, by some small miracle, they will be able to come out and fix it tomorrow. I've got to see "24." Mirwan launched a freakin' nuclear missile, for pete's sake!
But how would I also get a digital-quality recording of the last episode of "Raymond," which airs at the same time?
I just called Time Warner and, after going through the whole "unplug it from the wall...unplug it from the unit" runaround, it was determined that I may have a faulty DVR. So I can come to their office to get a replacement, which is cool EXCEPT that I'll be losing an Aimee Mann concert that I taped for my brother, not to mention about 10 episodes of "Cheap Seats" (I'm hunting for the one with the MST3K guys as guests).

You should be able to get Fox by putting a paper clip into the tv coax jack as an impromptu antenna...

Oh. As I'm not a fan of Ray, I won't be watching that. Everybody does Not love Raymond.
I don't watch the first-run episodes (conflicts with "24"), but I do catch the syndicated ones.
Crisis resolved. Called the cable company this morning and it appears we got a faulty unit. I exchanged it this afternoon and everything's peachy.
