I once used to dig reality television. I religiously watched the weekend marathons of The Real World seasons 2 and 3. Boot Camp was a dumb, guilty pleasure. Then came Joe Millionaire, whose ending made me feel like I wasted weeks of my life. Sure, I watched the Average Joe shows, liked 10 Things I Hate About You, and caught parts of the last season of The Surreal Life. Overall, though, I hate the genre. My feelings were confirmed last week when I stumbled upon some extremely insipid dating show (Yo, Can I Come In? or some title equally stupid) where the contestant's "coaches" gave a great argument why eighteen year olds should not be able to vote.
But tonight I'm dipping into the reality TV well once again: A&E's Caesars 24/7. I love and am fascinated by the city of Las Vegas. For a while I flirted with the idea of moving out there to attend culinary school, but thought better of it (although, I may rekindle that notion once the ol' mid-life crisis sets in). I'm not looking for any real insight tonight. But there's bound to be a lot of hot women. And it'll hopefully provide a Vegas fix until the next time that I can make it out there (hello, 30th birthday). I'm just going to sit back, have a glass of Speyburn, and get lost in extremely attractive people who are ugly and dead on the inside.
I'm also going to give VH1's Celebrity Fit Club a try next week simply because Biz Markie is the shiznit. He can do no wrong.

The only one worth a damn is The Amazing Race
Amazing Race is excellent. Completely recommended.
I'm pretty over reality tv... I can't even believe some of what's out there now. Complete wastes of time and air space.
That said, Caesars 24/7 sounds interesting... :)

Spydrs, I am addicted to the amazing race. I have some bizzare affection for Bolo and his little red neck wrastlin' woman. I don't know why... because they're about like me as day is night... but I guess their strange contradictions and odd relationship is what I'm curious with.
I hate the models... I'm bummed the old couple are off, same with Hera and her dad. I guess I go for the underdogs...
Wait. I just caught this.
Vegas. Culinary School.
Are you my male twin?
What's your favorite dish?
I usually root for the underdogs as well...but Gus and his daughter got shipped off, so...
Caesars 24/7 was exactly what I thought it would be, although with less hot women. But it's the first episode. I thought it would just center on employees of the casino, but it also followed around guests, too. I'll keep this show on the list for another week or two.
Amazing Race? That's the show with the midget - er, little person, right? I've heard good things, but my bias against reality TV precluded me from actually tuning in.
Kate - Way back in the day (spring 2001, to be exact) I had to choose between law school in Columbus or culinary school in either Charleston, SC, or Philadelphia. Obviously, I chose the former. And upon graduation this spring I reconsidered culinary school again, only at Le Cordon Bleu school in Vegas. But a) I already have student loan debt up to my eyeballs b) it's hot out there c) housing is super expensive in Sin City and d) given my penchant for my vices I'd be lucky if I reached age 32 out there. But I'm still considering it, as I'm not totally sold on this whole lawyer thing.
As for favorite dish, hmmmm...I like a good steak or rack of ribs. Or some nice cajun food - jambalaya (duh) or etouffee. Loves me some duck. My Micah-bobs are awesome, if I do say so myself (and I do). Hell, a lot of times I'd prefer a grilled cheese and tomato soup over some of the most well-regarded culinary delights. The fancy dishes are nice and pretty to look at, but I prefer the simple stuff.
Grilled cheese and Lucky Charms?
Spydrs... you remind me of this awful time in college when we decided to eat one of those dreadful sandwiches like in the Breakfast Club. White bread, mayo, capn crunch and pixie stix. SO GROSS.
I just made some veggie pot pies last night. I've long been a big pie baker... but I only just mastered my homemade crust this Thanksgiving... now I'm a pie making machine...
The grilled cheese and Lucky Charms comment is (I assume) about my brother and me. We both went to the same college (albeit 3 years apart), which has the best dining hall anywhere. Grilled cheese on demand! The Wall of Cereal! So, I pretty much had a grilled cheese with every meal. And my brother claims that he had a bowl of Lucky Charms (w/ chocolate milk) with every meal. I think I'll make a GC right now.
Mmmmmm...pie.
Of course I was referring to D-Hall. I never trusted those grilled cheeses though because they were strange looking. However, that jersey dirt pudding was great!! And imported from the Garden State!
Ever seen Cheaters? It SUCKSSSS
Reality dating shows are the WORST. The are the farthest from "reality." I think that I've flipped past "Cheaters" - that's the one that advocates splitting couples up (a la "Temptation Island"), right? Why would any couple want to go on a show like that?
